Technology Needed
The training will be presented via an online platform. Participants will need a computer, laptop, smart device (such as a tablet) with internet or WiFi connection or telephone. An email address will be required for each registered participant. A web camera is not required.
Overview
AAHA is hosting an interactive three (3) day online training workshop on Housing Policy. This virtual workshop will acquaint participants on the essential policy requirements for NAHASDA. Participants will learn the essential policy requirements for NAHASDA management in general. It will be a hands-on thorough review of a policy developed for Alaska Tribes and TDHEs. Some of the policy topics include: Applicable Alaska Law, Application Process, Eligibility and Ineligibility, Waiting Lists, Verification, Maintenance and Inspections, Hoarding, Collections, and Termination.
Trainer
Cielo Gibson has extensive experience with Indian Housing throughout the United States and Alaska, as a professional trainer, administrator and developer. Ms. Gibson has worked as an executive director for high-risk Indian housing authorities for over 20 years and has implemented numerous programs using low-income housing tax credits, Section 184, and ICDBG funds.
