Overview

AAHA is hosting a one and half day (1.5) day training on Writing a Successful Request for Proposals (RFP). An RFP is a document that a business, non-profit or government agency creates to detail the requirements for an upcoming project and is used to solicits bids from qualified vendors or contractors who would be able to complete or provide it. Developing an RFP that clearly communicates the details of the project that’s being undertaken will contribute to the quality of bids received and the successful outcome of the project and ultimate budget. Participants will learn what makes a strong RFP and what common mistakes to avoid. The training will include discussion on adapting to unexpected issues that may affect the successful execution of a project. Additional procurement and contract regulations and requirements will be included.

Trainer

Rob Jordan is owner of Dare to Know LLC., a built environment consulting firm. Rob has more than a decade of experience providing clear, concise, and cogent solutions for housing entities, non-governmental organizations, and executives. He developed High Quality Standards and Uniform Physical Conditions Standards trainings, and organized the Developing Alaska's Sustainable Housing (DASH) 2012 conference for Association of Alaska Housing Authorities (AAHA). Rob holds an MA and BA from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. He has served as an Executive Director, President, CEO, Program Manager, Grants Administrator, & Data Manager during his career.
