About the event

Overview 

AAHA is hosting an in-person three (3) day workshop on Housing Policy, in Anchorage, AK. This interactive workshop will acquaint participants with the policy requirements for NAHASDA. Attendees will participant in a hands-on walk through of a sample policy, learning to making additions and revisions in real-time. Some of the policy topics that will be discussed include: Applicable Alaska Law, Application Process, Eligibility and Ineligibility, Waiting Lists, Verification, Maintenance and Inspections, Hoarding, Collections, and Termination. Participants are encouraged to bring a copy of their organization’s policies to work on.

Trainer

Cielo Gibson has extensive experience with Indian Housing throughout the United States and Alaska, as a professional trainer, administrator and developer. Ms. Gibson has worked as an executive director for high-risk Indian housing authorities for over 20 years and has implemented numerous programs using low-income housing tax credits, Section 184, and ICDBG funds.
