Overview
AAHA is hosting a one (1) day IHBG Conveyance training to assist Housing Authorities in completing the proper steps to convey units as they are paid off. The course will help staff understand their roles and responsibilities in transferring the unit. The training will focus on real estate issues that are encountered with lease to own units being conveyed, including information relevant to Alaska. Participants will be provided instruction templates which will include lease assignments and best methods for recordings with DNR. Listed below are just a few of the topics that will covered; Mutual Help (Mael); the Legal implications of the Mutual Help Supreme Court Decision; Corrective Deeds; Conveying mortgaged housing; homes that have covenants or restriction; mobile homes (tiny homes that are movable); Site Control; Title Insurance; Useful Life; and other critical component necessary to conveyance homes in compliance with NAHASDA.
Trainer
Kim Dunn serves as general counsel to a number of nonprofit and public institutions, including clinics, social service agencies, housing authorities, municipalities and tribes. For over 30 years Kim has represented Alaska Regional Native Housing Authorities in managing programs developed under the 1937 U.S. Housing Act and NAHASDA.
