Instructions on how to access the virtual training and a link to the electronic materials will be emailed by January 19, 2021


Technology Needed

The training will be presented via an online platform. Participants will need a computer, laptop, smart device (tablet) with internet or Wi-Fi connection or telephone. An email address will be required for each registered participant. A web camera is not required.


Overview

AAHA is hosting a virtual 3-day Environmental Review workshop to provide HUD recipients with the necessary skills to ensure full compliance with the requirements of 24 CFR Part 58. Participants will become familiar with: responsibilities of responsible entities; achieving compliance with NEPA and related laws, executive orders, and regulations; preparing environmental review records; making environmental review determinations, identifying environmental impact; the consultation process, public notices and comment periods; and processing the request for release of funds. Please have a copy of an IHP (current or past) available for practice purposes.

 

Trainers

Shannon Reynaga an experienced local ERR Officer and Project Manager with AHA since 2008. He has attended, tested, and passed many HUD related courses relevant to his position. Kennedy Serr, Chief Administrative Officer with AHA has worked over 10 years in construction. Both she and Mr. Reynaga provide technical assistance to other housing authorities and have worked with AAHA to provide other ERR trainings.

 

Who Should Attend?

The course is designed to train staff responsible for conducting environmental reviews under HUD’s 24 CFR Part 58 regulations.
