About the Event

Overview 

AAHA will host a three (3) day online Homeownership & Credit Repair Training to provide participants with an overview of the skills needed to prepare Native families to meet the financial obligations of owning or renting a home. The training will cover topics such as: The Client Action Plan; Budgeting to meet housing obligations; Uses of Credit; Credit Challenges; Credit Building Scenarios and more.


Trainer 

Cielo Gibson has been working with 1937 Act and NAHASDA housing programs for over 20 years. Her work includes development of homeownership programs and policies for numerous tribes. As a professional trainer and administrator of NAHASDA programs, Ms. Gibson has extensive experience with Indian Housing throughout the United States and Alaska. Charmagne Dolphin’s been providing NAHASDA technical assistance and trainings for the past 14 years specializing in tribal housing counseling implementation. Charmagne also enjoys working alongside Tribally Designated Housing Entities (TDHE) during their annual self-monitoring and environmental review period along with overall self-sufficiency programming consultations. In 2010 Charmagne began co-training NAIHC’s national Pathways Home Train-The-Trainer Certification Trainings and received the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Housing and Foreclosure Counselor certification from their Office of Housing Counseling.
