About the Event

Overview 

AAHA is hosting an interactive three (3) day training workshop on Housing Policy. This workshop will acquaint participants on the essential policy requirements for NAHASDA. Participants will learn the essential policy requirements for NAHASDA management in general. It will be a hands-on thorough review of a policy developed for Tribes and TDHEs. Some of the policy topics include: Applicable Law, Application Process, Eligibility and Ineligibility, Waiting Lists, Verification, Maintenance and Inspections, Hoarding, Collections, and Termination. Workshop will include applicable Alaska Law. 


Trainer 

Cielo Gibson has extensive experience with Indian Housing throughout the United States and Alaska, as a professional trainer, administrator and developer. Ms. Gibson has worked as an executive director for high-risk Indian housing authorities for over 20 years and has implemented numerous programs using low-income housing tax credits, Section 184, and ICDBG funds.


Who should attend? 

Employees of Regional Housing Authorities (RHA)/Tribally Designated Housing Entities (TDHE); Board of Directors, Procurement Staff, Housing Staff, Contract Administrators, Finance Staff, Project Managers, Inspectors, and Maintenance Directors.
